    Hi Jeff,

The Nederland Utilities Department still suggests leaving a faucet dripping to prevent your pipes from freezing. Since sewer pipes are mostly below ground, they're less likely to freeze than the pipes in your house.

However, each house is built a little differently, so its best to check and see if any of your sewer pipes are laying flat before they go into the ground. If they are, then they are at risk of having water sit and freeze.

    I hope that helps!

  • Share Hi! Can you please clarify the paid parking situation in town? The QR codes and signage is up, but a Nederland Bugle email from a couple of months ago said the paid parking was on hold for now, and residents in the BVSD district would be issued a parking pass prior to the start of enforcement. I can't find any updates on the town website. Thank you! on Facebook Share Hi! Can you please clarify the paid parking situation in town? Hi Annie,

The current paid parking signs aren't Town of Nederland owned - they are all ran privately by the property owner. The Town is currently reevaluating our approach to paid parking in Town-owned areas, and have pushed back the tentative start date to spring of 2025.

Once we have more information to share, we'll send it out through all of our channels, including through the Nederland Bugle and the town website. Hope that helps!

Yup, at least for this first newsletter. This is a new function we're trying out, but it's my understanding that after this first newsletter goes out, you'll be able to unsubscribe if you don't want to receive them in the future.

  • Share Hi there! Is there a way for us to keep up with the "rumored" projects throughout town? For example, the "barcade" that may go up where the old garage on 1st street (by Salto) was, the potential restaurant where the credit union was, etc? Thank you! :) on Facebook Share Hi there! As of right now, I'm only able to list projects that Town is involved in here, as it can be hard to keep up with where some personal projects are at - such as the barcade and credit union projects.

Fortunately, we're a small town, so in these cases, we can go right to the source. Both the barcade that's planned for the old Snyder's Garage spot and the credit union revamp are being done by the same person, and I recently talked to them about both projects. The barcade is on hold until the weather warms up, but they're pretty adamant about having construction completed by end of summer 2024.

The plans for the CityWide Banks building should be done a bit quicker, though, as no external construction needs to be done. It's still in planning phase, and we haven't seen any building permit applications come from them yet.

One of the ways we intend to keep people up to date on these 'projects of interest' around Town is through our new monthly newsletter that will be rolling through Engage Nederland. After it gets underway, I'll be soliciting these projects for potential updates to add to help keep the community informed on their timeline.

    I hope that helps!

    Hey Betina,

I'll connect with the NDDA to follow up, but from my understand the River Walk is a proposed project at the moment - that is to say right now it's more of an idea that they'd like to explore the viability of for Nederland. Currently, there isn't any concrete plans in place as to when or where a River Walk would be placed.

Eric Coombs Esmail asked over 1 year ago

    Hi Eric,

Currently, I believe that each project needs to be subscribed to individually. I'll continue to look into that on the backend and see if that's something we can change.

    Thanks!

  • Share I have a cabin in Ned and come up 2 or so times a month. I always charge my car at the visitor center(THANK YOU!) Last 3 times I have been here there has been a car from carshare.org plate #AIJ-V65 charging. It sits there for 24 hrs at time and does not appear to have been moved anytime recently, still covered in snow. I was here 3/3, 3/20 and mid nov. 2 times I could not charge because this car sits there plugged in. Hoping we can get them to use the 3 hour max time. Hi Perry,

That is actually the permanent home for the CarShare car. The car was provided to the Town of Nederland by CharShare.org for residents and visitors to use to get around Town. Due to it's need to be ready to use whenever someone reserves it, it needs to remained plugged in when it's not being driven.

Fortunately, we'll have three new EV charges that are waiting to be installed once the weather warms up a bit. This should help alleviate the need for more EV spaces.
